Why can't I find 'Events' or 'Resources' pages in my Pages menu?

Last Updated: May 30, 2024, as of MereChurch 1.5.

Some of your website's pages are generated automatically by the platform. These pages usually interact with other features on your website, like your resource library or events calendar. Here's a full list of these 'generated' pages:

  • Resources archive page (/resources)
  • Any resource type archive page (like /resources/sermons)
  • Any topic archive page (like /resources/topics/faith)
  • Any series archive page (like /resources/series/journey-in-mark)
  • Any author archive page (like /resources/authors/bob-bobson)
  • Events archive page (/events)
  • Your Homepage (/)

How do I link to these pages on my website?

Anywhere you can add a link, the MereChurch platform gives you three options: URL, File, or Page. While you won't be able to see these in the 'Page' menu, you can still add them using the 'URL' dialog. Just use the page's slug (in parentheses above) to make a relative link to the page. This is the best way to add them to your main menu or reference them on other pages of your site.

Pro Tip:

Did you know? You can overwrite the built-in Events page with your own version. Simply create a page with the slug 'events' and add whatever content you'd like to the page. As of MereChurch 1.5, you can add the 'All Events' block to this page to replicate the built-in events calendar functionality, and then add any blocks you'd like around this block to customize your events page to suit your church.
