Understanding the settings on your MereChurch website

Your MereChurch website is built from the ground up with your church website in mind. As such, while there are a few settings to manage, most features have been built to work well with the majority of churches who use our product.

When you click 'Settings,' there are 6 screens with options, as well as three additional screens with settings for particular document types: Resources, People, and Events.

General

These are your basic site settings: site name and logo, favicon (the 16x16 image that shows in the tab bar of your browser), as well as your footer text and announcement bar settings. The announcement bar will apear at the top of the screen when enabled, and is useful for communicating time-sensitive information to your visitors.

Location

Set the details of where you are located: your church address, your location in latitude and longitude (there is an easy map-pin finder for helping you to generate these values), a link to Google Maps if you want to help your visitors generate directions, and a 'service times' field that lets you enter in text form the times that your church meets.

Navigation

Set your header and footer menus here, as well as your social media page links, if applicable. The header menu supports child menu items as well, if needed. Your social media links will be given an icon automatically, if possible, or you can upload your own.

See: "How to add a Splash page"

Prefooter

See: "How to update the content in your prefooter"

Home

See: "How to add and rearrange homepage content"

Resource Settings

Here, you can set a fallback series image if you don't have one set for all of your sermon series.

Event Settings

Here, you can set a fallback event image if you don't have one set for all of your events. You can also decide if you want to show a set of hand-picked featured events above the main listing of events.

See: "How to set featured events on your calendar page"

As always, if you have any questions while navigating and updating your MereChurch website, please don't hesitate to submit a support ticket using the link in the upper right.
